Honoring Michaela on her Birthday
Started my December 6th by having coffee with friends to celebrate Michaela’s birthday. Michaela loved coffee so that is my usual way to honor her on her birthday by having coffee and asking friends and family to post photos of them having a cup of their favorite drink. This year, her birthday landed on a weekend so asked local friends to join me. I felt blessed to have about 12 friends come and celebrate her day with me. My whole day felt like it was moments after moments to celebrate Michaela’s birthday.
In June, I started making bracelets. I wanted to hand them out at our local Pride festival which is in September. I ended up not going to Pride this year as my anxiety was too much to go out. I continued to make bracelets as it is relaxing for me. I made bracelets with asexual pride flag colors, pansexual, bisexual, non-binary, transgender, and several other flag colors. I did words like enough, overthinker, fluffy, born this way, defying gravity, worthy, love wins, I heart bears, protect the dolls, twink, jelly bean, girl gamer, beautifully flawed, and so on. I did some with dinosaurs, butterflies, skulls, and rainbow beads.
After having about 60, I decided I wanted 100 bracelets and to bring them to our local LGBTQ center, Loving Beyond Understanding, on December 6th for Michaela’s birthday. Well 150 bracelets later they were dropped off this evening to honor Michaela on her birthday. There is an event there tonight so I hope they bring others joy.
